Figure 4.6.2.A Accounts - Users page. |
In most clans, there is usually more than one person who has some control over their clan server. There are often many reasons for this, but most notable is that if it left up to one person, what happens when they are not around?
In the previous version of ClanForge™ we had the ability to add additional admins to ClanForge™ on your behalf, but it was always intended to give this functionality to the users. More than that, we developed a system whereby you can grant your other admins a varying degree of control depending on how much you trust them.
There is only one requirement to this system. Each person you wish to give access to ClanForge™, MUST have their own Multiplay user account. If they do not, then they must sign up for one here.
We strongly advise that you NEVER share your login name or password with anyone. It may seem simpler for you in the short term, but in the long term it is a very hazardous thing to do. If you share your account details you give others access to change your personal details and hijack your account. This then means they have the potential to make purchases in your name, or simply disrupt the service on your clan server. It is far safer for each admin to have their own account, that way if the worst should happen, their access can be easily removed with minimal damage caused.

- Admin Level
There are 7 administrator levels in total within ClanForge. Each is designed to give slightly more functionality that the previous level. To set the admin level of a user, highlight their name in the Admin List (point 2) and then select the level you want to give them from the drop down menu. When you have done that, click Set.
Finally, click Save (point 6) to finalise the change.
The different admin levels within Clanforge are as follows:
- Min.
Just gives access to Live Control for kick, ban, map change etc.
- Basic.
As with Min gives access to Live Control but also gives access to start / stop and restart the server.
- Medium.
Gives all the privileges of Basic with the addition of access to the Files section.
- Advanced.
In addition to the privileges granted to Medium users Advanced also gives access to Profiles and delete in Files.
- Super.
Grants access to everything with the exception of Access itself. In addition to the privileges granted to Advanced users Super also gives access to Machines.
- Manager.
In addition to the privileges granted to Super users Manager also gives access to grant user Access via the Account page. Note: Only grant this to only fully trusted members of your team.
- Owner. Account owner privilege.
- Admin List
This lists all the users that currently have access to this service. It lists their Multiplay user name, their real name and their access level.
- Add/Remove
Use the Remove button to remove a highlighted admin from the Admin List. If you then decide you've made a mistake and want to move the admin back, highlight their name in the Removed list and click the Add button.
- Removed List
This box lists any admins that you have removed from the Admin List.
- Add New Admin
To add a new admin, you must provide their Multiplay username, and their real name as they have submitted in their account details. With regards to their real name, when they filled out their account details they submitted a forename and a surname. Both of these must be typed into the the Fullname text box.
For example, if someone signed up to an account with the forename 'Chris' and the surname ' De Walt', you must type 'Chris De Walt' in the Fullname text box. Any spaces or punctuation used when the account was created must also be used here!
After submitting Username and Fullname, you must click the New button for that person to be added to the Admin List. If no name appears in the list, then either the person you are trying to add does not have a Multiplay account, or you have provided incorrect/incomplete information.
- Save
This button is crucial, and sometimes missed. Any changes you make on this page do not get implemented until you click this button. This means that you can add a number of new admins, remove some, even change their privileges, but until you click this button, none of it gets implemented.
Should you leave this screen before clicking on the Save button, any changes you have made will be lost.
- Refresh
If at any time you need to refresh this page, simply click this button.
