Aside from the obvious graphical changes that have been made since the last version of ClanForge™, one of the most prominent changes is the separation of how we handle the editing of Profiles and the assigning of profiles to a server.
The drive for this change was to make it more intuitive and less restrictive. Using the new method, when you go to edit a profile, that is all you are doing, editing. This means you can happily edit profiles that are both assigned and unassigned to an active server without the worry of it restarting the server. If you then wish to change the profile on your server, you come to this page!
Editing a server allows you to change it to any of your other available profiles. If you have multiple games available, for example if you bought a multi-game server or Dedicated Server, then you can also change the it to a completely different game by selecting a profile for that game.
In ClanForge™ we use the term 'Profile' to describe a set of configuration files needed for a server to run. These files contain details such as what game, which mods to run, map lists, etc. Profiles are discussed in much more depth later on in this guide.
