4.2.4     Live Control

Every game is different when it comes to the admin functions that come with the game and how you control it. Many games have RCON (Remote Console), which means learning all the RCON commands and syntax. With Live Control within Clanforge you can do away with rcon and use a simple, consistent interface to manage your server in real time.

Among the games we offer, the following have Live Control support:

  1. BF1942, BFV and Battlefield 2.
  2. CS1.6, CS:Source and all other Half-Life (1+2) based games
  3. Call of Duty (and United Offensive)
  4. Quake 1, 2 and 3, and most games based on a Quake engine
  5. Elite Force I + II
  6. Enemy Territory
  7. Jedi Academy and Jedi Knight II
  8. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (plus Spearhead, Breakthrough)
  9. Return to Castle Wolfenstein
  10. Soldier of Fortune II

IMPORTANT: Each game Live Control supports will have different functions available. They will not all be the same for all games. For example, if Punkbuster is supported by the game your server is running, then the Punkbuster Live Control tab will appear. Alternatively, some of the individual functions like the friendly fire toggle is available for Battlefield 1942 and BF:Vietnam but not for games such as Call of Duty or Medal of Honor.

For the examples shown on the next few pages, we have used a Call of Duty server with punkbuster enabled. We have also altered the images slightly to remove or falsify IP addresses and Global User IDs, but still leave you with an accurate example of what the screens will look like.
