|Restoring Mumble Servers
Apr 03 2018 20:51:46
First off our sincere apologies for the delay in getting to this point but we're now very close to performing restores of our Mumble services effected by the issue early last Thursday morning.
I'm sure many of you have seen that our Teamspeak servers where restored much sooner, so we wanted to share the reason for delay.
Unfortunately unlike Teamspeak, which provides server snapshots (a individual server backup), Mumble has no such feature. So in order to perform individual server restores from our backups we've had to develop a custom solution from scratch, given the complexities of this, its taken our developers many days and nights to create and test the code to handle this.
I'm pleased to say that we're testing this with a few early volunteers.
Once we've confirmed the process is working as expected, we'll be performing a mass restore of all effected Mumble servers.
During this process your Mumble server will be stopped + locked and once complete, restarted.
Again thanks for your patience while we work through this issue.
